Advantages: makes your home look fab

Disadvantages: taking them down afterwards :(

I love this time of year, I think it's all about families and fun and I really go to town with the decoration's. My daughter keeps badgering me at the moment to put the tree and decorations up but I am trying to hold off for a bit longer.

I normally put my tree and decorations up the last weekend in november. My tree is artificial so it's just a matter of taking it out of the box and putting it together. I put the light's on and the fairy on top and my daughter puts the tinsel and bauble's on. I love watching her face as she stands back and admire's what she has done, she beams with delight. Nearer christmas I put some of the present's I have bought for other people under the tree, obviously I can't put my daughter's there as santa bring's them ;)

As for the garland's, I have four in my lounge and three in my hallway, each with sparkly tassles on them. I also put tinsel over my hanging picture's just for a little touch.

I have light display's that I have up at the window's, my lounge window has a cascade of clear light's with blue lighted stars at the bottom and my upstair's window's have santa's and snowmen on them, they look so nice from the outside when all lit up.

I have a collection of christmas toys that I place around my lounge, there is a battery operated santa riding a bike, a singing santa, a light up santa etc etc. I normally buy one each year to keep adding to my collection.

I then put my daughter's chocolate advent calender up, normally out of her reach as one year she opened them while I was out of the room and ate them all and had to buy her another one!!

The week before christmas my daughter and I make mince pies and jam tart's and on christmas eve we always leave a homemade mince pie out for santa and a carrot for rudolph with a little note to wish him a happy christmas.

Then when my daughter is fast asleep I get all the present's out and leave them all on the lounge floor for christmas morning, and it's a beautifull sight when she walks in, her eyes are wide open with exitement and she never knows what to open first!!

I truly love christmas time, the only down side to it is when you have to take them all down again!!

Happy christmas dooyoo residents xx

Summary: jingle all the way
