Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but It's 14 weeks on tuesday till christmas! What will you do!!! Food wise won't be too bad this year as its my sisters turn to cook lunch on the day(we alternate so i only cook once every 3 years) although i will take wine and a cheeseboard.Other wise i would be squirelling away stuff in my cupboards and freezer from september onwards. I will never buy a whole turkey again! ALDI do a turkey crown stuffed with apricot abd cranberry stuffing its 2kg of pure meat(plenty for 8-10) and yummy best part is its less than a tenner! Otherwise we dont go mad, afterall the shops hardly close ...  Read the complete review

This christmas was the worst one financially I have ever had. I lost my part time job in August, which I had done for 6 years, I got turned down for my student loan, then I got a well paid full time job and was paid off 2 weeks later. Yes life is a bitch, but I coped through the festive season and so can you. First of all a bit thanks goes to the whole Dooyoo who reads my reviews. Because of you lot I cashed in £100 in time for christmas and that money bought all my presents. If I didn't have that money, it really would have been a tight christmas. That could be my first tip to earn money. On the net there are numerous sites where you can make money ...  Read the complete review

If you are a new parent, then the odds are that you have experienced a slight strain in your cash flow. Christmas is coming up, it seems only right that the little bundle of joy in your house should have a good time. PRESENTS Ah, yes, presents. So many things, so little time. There are so many things you can buy for Little Bundle. My little brother was 9 months old on his first Christmas. I carefully placed my two presents to him amongst the ones his proud parents had purchased. We propped him up in front of his pile of presents, and took a few pictures. The wall of presents was 4 feet high (his father was a first time parent and I think ...  Read the complete review

All to much (379 words)

I always thought that Christmas was about the birth of Christ not how much you had spent on food and presents. Don't get me wrong I do not go to church or even believe in God. Why do people go mad. Do you really need 5 different cheese and at least 2 bottles of whiskey when you only drink about half a year. My husband and I will buy the following extra in food shopping for Christmas, a frozen turkey, a Orange and chocolate steam pudding as we both dislike Christmas pudding. We will not buy a Christmas cake. Again neither of us like it. So no point and as people already have far to much to eat why buy or make one. For it to still be in the ...  Read the complete review

Economising and Christmas -two words that you really do not see often in the same sentence! But it can be done! I'm not talking about Scrooge like penny pinching but actually sticking to an affordable budget. A budget which will not mean tears when the Visa bill hits the door mat come January. I want to be able to open my Visa statement knowing that I will not need a stiff drink to do so and that I'll be able to pay it off well before next Christmas! So how can you economise at Christmas, you are probably asking with the images of a bleak Christmas with little orphans holding out their hands for their Christmas penny dancing in your head? ...  Read the complete review
