If like me you jump to a new credit card every time the introductory rate on the current card runs out then this card is ideal. Transfer your balance for a paltry 2.5% a month and interest free purchases for six months. Add to this 1% cash back on all you spend on the card and 2% through the egg shopping zone adds up to a great deal for another 6 months. The only downfall is that all statements are delivered through the internet and not through the traditional letter box. This for most will not provide a major problem but it will keep us on our toes and online regulary. I have been looking for a credit card that charges a low rate of interest as I have a significant balance on my other cards. I have been using MBNA for the past few months where the interest charged was 2.9% for 6 months. As my 6 months period is almost up, I am in a position where I need to look to transfer my balance elsewhere. After much searching I went on the iii bulletin board and discovered that egg were offering balance transfer at 2.5% (first 6 months) and 0% for other transaction. I've been with Egg since February 2000 and have both a credit card and loan with them. I must say that I have been more than pleased with the service and products they offer since I joined them and the banking process in itself is so easy and just makes life a whole lot simplier. I have only had one mishap with them where they mistakenly applied for too much money from my bank account - however they swiftly rectified this and payed all the charges incurred because of it and even gave me £25.00 to say sorry - now theres not many banks out there that will even admit to being wrong let alone try to make amends!
