Newest Review: ... only into the game by a couple of minutes. I position myself quite nicely into the 69 position, to ensure maximum comfort and snugness around the contours of my body (OK lumps, bumps and cellulite). Ah much better!! As I lay like a couched potato, assuming the role of football viewer, surrounded by everything I could quite fancy at the time (just a shame the loo wasn't portable) eyes ... more

Premium Review England vs Sweden: While England V Sweden, I had my own ball game going ;o) (1110 words)

Now trust me I am not a big fan of football one bit, the last football game I watched was back in 1990, when I was just 17 (sounds like a teeny magazine out). I was watching one of the World Cup matches with a couple of friends at the time, who lived in the flat across the hall in my first ever digs away from home. Many of you will probably remember the game that took place between England and Germany, I certainly do and it wasn't from it being a memorable game (if you ask me they played like pussies at the time), but more from the saga with Gazza, the card and the tears!! To be honest the game was such a disappointment that it put me off watching football until ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Walking Wounded (812 words)

England needed to win this game..... after Argentina's victory against Nigeria earlier in the day. The question was could the walking wounded rise to the occasion and overshadow the Queen's Golden Jubilee? And the simple answer is...... no they couldn't! The first-half looked promising as David Beckham's foot seemed to hold out and Sol Campbell rose to one of his high, inswinging corners..... to powerfully head England into the lead. But in the second-half, England's performance left a lot to be desired. The defenders looked like headless chickens and relied on David Seaman to save them for a draw. The English fans ...  Read the complete review

On Sunday June 2nd, the world as we know it came to an end. The Polar Ice Caps melted, the Ozone Layer finally stretched beyond critical and violent Earthquakes ripped apart the very fabric of the planet. Well, this is what you might have believed had happened follwing the reaction to England's performance against Sweden on Sunday. England played well in the first half of this match and then put in a dissappointing display in the second. The match ended in a draw, each team gaining a point at the end of it. England are second in the group and are still favourites along with Argentina to progress to the last 16. Why do ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Pull Your Socks Up England!! (202 words)

For months now I have been looking forward to the World Cup but when it actually arrived I was really disappointed. The England vs Sweden match was entertaining in parts but overall it was absoloutely disgfraceful. England pretty much dominated the first half thanks to the only England goal by one of their prime defenders, Sol Campbell. From there onwards things started to go downhill for them as the Swede's equalised soon after half time. Their next game is against Argentina on Friday and if England couldn't cope with Sweden I don't think that they will have much chance of defeating Argentina. Many of the critics ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review England vs Sweden: A bloody bad week (626 words)
by - written on 05/06/02 (Very useful, 15 readings)
Rating:

We all knew it was going to be a bloody bad week the instant that Danny Mills tried to trap the ball on his chest as it flew into the England area. He clearly thought it was going to go back to David Seaman, but it was not to be. A Swedish striker cut in the ball and Mills was forced to lunge in to clear the ball. The however, all he could do was divert it into the path of Alexandersson, who promptly cut inside and fired home past Seaman. Mills was distraught and you didn't need to be a lip reader to see how badly he felt. He must have wished that Gary Neville hadn't accompanied Golden Balls into the treatment room at that moment. Things had started ...  Read the complete review
