This is an event that is held every year during late July or August. It is held each year over 3 days on a different estate, this year being Blenheim. Whilst the main theme is obviously country sports, there is a huge selection of stands to look round and all sorts of displays so if you are not particularly interested in shooting or dogs, there is plenty of craft, cooking etc. There are also many-have-a-go opportunities. The facilities are excellent with loads of food, drink and loos. Parking is well organised and plentiful. Try as we might, we could not get round to see everything on offer and really needed to spend more than 1 day there. ... Read the complete review

The Art of Star Wars Exhibition is currently running until the 3rd September 2000 at the Barbican Exhibition Centre in London. It is a couple of yards down the road from the Barbican Underground Station on the (yellow) Circle Line. We booked our tickets in advance on-line (www.artofstarwars.com) a few weeks in advance, but when we arrived there wasn't much of a queue. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £6.50 for children. The Art of Star Wars covers the magic and design behind all 4 Star Wars films starting from Star Wars through to the Empire Strikes Back then Return of the Jedi and then full circle back to the Phantom Menace. The exhibition covers a ... Read the complete review

RNAS Culdrose, near Helston in Cornwall have just had their annual Air Day, and it was a great day out for all the family A stunning display by the Red Arrows began an afternoon of ooh's and aah's from the crowd, as planes and helicopters from the 1930's to the very latest technology were put through their paces There was a display of wing walking from the Utterly Butterly crew, which had everyone amazed by the antics of the two very brave ladies strapped to the wings and doing acrobatic tricks. The traditional bow to the crowds by the Tornadoes, was earsplitting but tremendous as they ... Read the complete review

his year the International Air Tattoo is not at Fairford but at Cottesmore in Rutland because the runway has to be resurfaced. If Fairford was too far away and now it is closer I recommend you to go. Yes it does seem expensive for the tickets at first (buy them before hand not at the gate for 2 reasons 1 it is cheaper 2 it doesnt hold the traffic going in up) but believe me it is worth every penny. Also if you think it is just aeroplanes doing a display please think again. There are static planes which you can go and have a look around, yes even in the cockpit. There are many many stalls of various kinds. Then you have the things to do there and lots and lots ... Read the complete review
