Newest Review: ... highlighted by that late, late goal in the Champions League which really got Arsenal's challenge going. Cole always used to be good going forward and shaky when defending but he has tightened up his game noticeably in that game this season, maintaining the outstanding form he showed in the World Cup against Argentina. CLAUDE MAKELELE (Chelsea) They all said that Makelele would be the final piece in the Roman Abramovich jigsaw and they certainly got it right for the defensive midfielder is probably the best holding player in the world right now, protecting his back four admirably and allowing his flashier team mates to concentrate... more

Here goes with my selection of the best set of players in the Premiership this season, coupled with the worst combination, just to keep you amused. If you agree, lovely, if you disagree, who cares? This is my choice not yours... THE BEST TIM HOWARD (Man Utd) There was some interesting copy about the American when he signed for the Old Trafford club, what with him suffering from Tourette's Syndrome and the rest, but right from the off in the Community Shield, Howard has been outstanding, sound with good handling, with none of the flash stuff normally associated with American keepers like Sly Stallone in Escape To Victory. The ...  Read the complete review

Fantasy football, what would i do with out it. I've played in a few different fantasy football leagues over the years but i've finally found the one for me. Unfortunately it's not available to everyone. It's been set up by a friend of a friends dad but basically the format is the same as most with a difference at the end. It's a mini league consisting of 40 different teams. Initially the 40 teams were split up into 4 tables, division 1, 2, 3 and 4. Each person then plays the other in their league, so after 9 weeks everyone has played everyone else in their own league. The top 2 teams in each league were put in division 1 along with the ...  Read the complete review

If only we didn’t have to buy the naff paper! (1636 words)

Im doing the far less complicated Daily Star fantasy league where you only have to pick the teams and not the players. It cost three pounds to enter from the start of the season by cheque or you can phone in a team up until December if you wanted to try and win the weekly prize. This is not a bad tactic if you can use the office phone as by this time of the season if you’re not in contention you are out of it. Its method is easy as you have all the teams in the premiership and football league in England and Wales listed from 92,Man United down to Rushden and Diamonds at 1. Each league you have to pick four teams that add up to an allotted score or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fantasy Football in general: Living the fantasy is getting tedious (573 words)

Fantasy football must have been around for around 6 or 7 years now. My first encounter was with the Daily Telegraph's version which I think kicked the whole craze off. We have subsequently seen it permeate society so deeply that pretty much every male friend of mine and several of those of the female persuasion have at least one team playing in some league or another. So - my first point is total respect to the guy who invented it and I hope that he had a good lawyer at the time and has made lots of money by bringing so much enjoyment to many! Onto my main point however. I am basing this on my personal experiences and would be really ...  Read the complete review
