Just for Christmas, I thought I’d put on to ‘paper’,
just some of my own personal favourite Christmas songs.

They’re in no particular order,
except the first one and that is
VERY special.

I hope they bring to you,
that lovely warm Christmassy feeling
the same way as they do me . . . .

1. Merry Christmas Darling

This is an all time favourite of mine and auldmac’s.
We used to play it down the phone to each other when we were 350 miles apart. . .
and do you know, by the time we’d finished
'talking',
the curly telephone wire had straightened itself out! ;-)

American and schmaltzy, I know, but this wonderful song always make me feel a wonderful warmth inside . . .

3. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)

Ah, it’s Christmas, everyone - and when I hear this one, I just KNOW it’s Christmas.

4. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Found myself singing this one today,
and do you know . . .it did!
Another result of that particular trip down memory lane was this opinion,
. . .not bad eh?

5. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Same as the previous song,
and the one before it.
These songs just make
‘a body’ feel soo g-o-o-d.

How poignant this one can be
if you are alone,
and if you are alone,
then know that all your dooyoo friends are thinking about you at this festive season.

This one is a ‘matching pair’ with the previous track. It’s says it all.
Truly wonderful.

9. Silver Bells

So, - it’s more schmaltz, but this is one I can't and don't hear often enough.
I personally believe that the Americans have the 'upper hand' when it comes to
*quality* schmaltz,

10. Winter Wonderland

Last but definitely not least.
So evocative and Christmassy with
snow and happy times
fitted in to a lovely melody;
great stuff.
