Here we go again. British sports fans starved of any kind of serious success this summer - Euro 2000, Wimbledon, Cricket (?), now we have the Open Golf at St Andrews.
Look at the leader board - it has to turn over thre pages before we see someone from this side of the Atlantic or Channel - and he's Irish - Padraig Harrington!
What about our 'big white hope' of two opens ago Justin Rose. An Amateur when he had a briliant Open - turned pro, sunk without trace, virtually. He failed to qualify for the Open this year.
Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie are hanging around at 3 under, but with that man Tiger Woods leading the pack - the clubhouse lead will be around 10 or 11 under tonight.
Oh Well at least there is Lennox Lewis....or wasn't he Canadian once ???
