... Glasgow section is still pretty sparsely populated because it has only been up and running for a few weeks. One must always be careful when visiting ‘contact’ sites and there is also a very well presented guide as to what to do --and what not to do if you are arranging ‘dates’ on the internet, and I would suggest you read this guide, as it is of good use to all. Premium Review Glasgow: An Insider's Guide... (1116 words)
by - written on 14/05/01 (Very useful, 88 readings)
Rating:

I’ve been a resident in Glasgow for nigh on eight months now, so I cannot say I have unbounded knowledge of the place. But I have accumulated enough knowledge to bring you a review of one of the most overlooked cities in Europe. So here it is… The main problem with Glasgow is of course the negative image portrayed of it in the media. For every positive view the public are exposed to, such as the BBC Holiday 2001 report a couple of months ago, there are countless others from the opposite of the spectrum. According to a recent TV documentary it is "the car crime capital of Europe". To be honest, plenty of the negative publicity is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The NAUGHTY Side of Glasgow - A GUIDE  (534 words)
by - written on 16/07/01 (Very useful, 1828 readings)
Rating:

Every big city has it’s up-sides and down-sides, its’ touristy’ sides and Its 'seamier' sides and there is no getting away from that !! Some of you might have read one of my earlier opinions on Glasgow where I extol the virtues of a website dedicated to the promotion of this good City. Well here’s another, different type of website which has been recently set up to extol the virtues of the seamier side of Glasgow. I must hasten to add at this point, that there is nothing sleazy, or obscene to be found here, if there was, I for one would definitely not be highlighting the site ! The site first came to my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review DVLA - Glasgow: - You Try Finding It ! (503 words)
by - written on 29/09/00 (Very useful, 629 readings)
Rating:

I don't want to sound pedantic, but after the day I've had you'll have to forgive me, just this once! We, my partner and I, decided to give up our life-long mode of transport and keep the government happy. Yes that's right we've gone back to pedestrian power! Today was the day we had pencilled in to take in our old tax disk - in order to get back some of our hard come-by cash. So, we toddled up to Bothwell Street here in old Glasgow town, site for aeons of the DVLA local offices. Naturally we were a bit out of touch, what with all the finance we have parted with for the past thirty-odd years being a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Glasgow Overground (137 words)
by - written on 14/01/01 (Useful, 27 readings)
Rating:

I travel on the bus very frequently and I must say it is quite agreable. I mean don't expect much it is a bus and it is for all the public so every now and then it does get crowded and you have to put up with screaming children and the odd drunk. The thing I seem to like about the bus system is that it is reliable as there is one available every ten minutes from 9:00 to 6:00 every day the number system is very easy to work out. The very good at £1.50 for a return per person. A word of warning though is that the bus does often get crowded and it is not very clean but if you can look past those inconviniences then you are gauranteed a safe and effecient journey! ...  Read the complete review
