Hampered for lack of hamper choice (Harrods Christmas Hampers)
Member Name: rugbyjoc
Advantages: choice, cost Disadvantages: extra work
I find the dearth of selection something of a pain. The first thing that I can say is that I find Harrods hampers very attractive but quite expensive for what they contain. Marks & Spencer were fine in days past but they seem to be cutting corners whilst increasing prices and introducing cardboard boxes rather than traditional wicker hampers - pace, M&S..I think yours are still ok value and I do know what wicker hampers cost. As to what's available from the supermarkets, well.....there's not much to talk about, is there. Here's an idea: go to Kitchen Spoils or some other place and buy a cheap wicker hamper...they DO have them, you know...be a little inventive and enterprising and decorate the inside yourself. Buy your goodies from high street shops and supermarkets and, securing the hamper properly, get Parcel Force to deliver it. Savings are to be made this way and you have the added fillip of having done it all, yourself. Your recipient gets what YOU want them to have and you detrmine content and price. Summary: |
