Henman v Philippoussis

Newest Review: ... Henman is a very good tennis player. But will he ever get a big tournament win. When he needs to play well he always seems to put in a pour performance. Even infront of homefans he can play some diabolical tennis. In the last few months his world ranking has slipped and he is out of the top 10. This is because he just isn't perfoming as we know he can. I find him a very boring player to watch and i think that he needs to improve and work hard to reach the high levels he much know he can get too. ... more

Premium Review All Aced Out (235 words)

Yesterday's match was agonizing indeed. All hope was on Tim's shoulders to go through and shine a light in English Tennis again. What started out to be a hopeful match turned sour in the final set as Philippousis managed to get the break point and lead. Three games later, he was serving for the match and won it. I can't help to feel for Tim, his look of dissapointment was clear. After losing the first set, he came back strongly to win the second and third sets. Both players looked worned out in the final set, at one point both only serving aces to win their games. All in all, it was a tough match and the crowd did all they could to ...  Read the complete review

Well, British interest in Wimbledon dies for another year and though I agree with "snliew" and "Clic Clac" that Tim fought bravely and kept our hopes high for as long as possible, I do have one point to raise. Yes, he made the last 16 for about the 4th year running, but........ Tim must be aiming for the top 10 in the world so to make the last 16 on grass, his best surface, in-front of his home fans should be below where he's aiming. Phillippousis just seemed to have an extra gear to pick things up from 2 sets to 1 down, Tim was in top gear but had no more to give. Yes, Phillippousis is a top quality opponent and I think ...  Read the complete review

I have never believed that Henman will win the Wimbledon this year. However, when I watched the match between him and Philippoussis, I really believed that he had great skills and could have made it. It was a real great game. Hemnan may have lost, but I really admire his guts, his courage and determinaton. Philippousis is a difficult player to beat. His service left Henman a bit dazed, just looking at the ball, unable to return. Yet, Henman never gave up. Bravo, Tim! You have made us proud of you. You won't win Wimbledon this year, but have given us a game full of strength and determination. This is what tennis's all about. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Henman v Philippoussis: Well Fought young man! (204 words)

A lot has been put upon the young shoulders of our Tim, every year the press builds him up and practically promises us he will win Wimbledon. So yesterdays match was a high pressure affair pitting our serve volley player against a huge serving machine. Tim addmitedly started off nervousley and lost the first set after a onslaught from Phillipoussis, but he soon rallied and started playing like the true terrier he is...constantly battling for each point and playing some excellent rallies, placing the ball just so. I have to admit that at two sets to one up I thought Tim just might do it, especially as Philly was looking quite tired. But it wasn't to be, the ...  Read the complete review
