Advantages: Huge, tasty, cheap pizza. Great atmosphere.

Disadvantages: Service a little slow on occasion.

I'm not kidding! It is located about halfway up Stroud Green Road in Finsbury Park, 5-10 minutes walk from the bus and tube stations. And even if you live miles away you will probably find yourself visiting La Porchetta frequently, as do thousands of Londoners, all saying "Best pizza in London!"- for once you've experienced this pizza, you'll realise what an utter rip-off the likes of Pizza Express really are. The pizzas here are ENORMOUS; protruding inches over the edge of the gigantic plates provided. They are tasty too, made the old-fashioned way (watch the chefs' tossing them around like play-dough!) by the all-Italian staff. There are around twenty different pizzas available, ranging from the usual favourites to more exotic combinations (if you like rocket on your pizza you're in luck). The starters and pastas are also excellent, and so in particular are the desserts (if you've got room left after the pizza!) The prices are amazing - not only the best and the biggest, but also the cheapest. How would you like to pay under a fiver for a ridiculously big pizza? The restaurant itself seats hundreds, and is usually loud and chaotic (the waiters like to have a little dance once in a while!) It is ideal for parties and group visits - tell the staff in advance if it's someone's birthday and they'll suddenly appear at some point crashing tin pans togeather and singing 'Happy Birthday'! The only minor quibble is that it is sometimes SO crowded that service can be a little slow (learn to wave at the waiters). Otherwise this is...well...the best pizza in London!
