Advantages: Convenient, Can Save Lives
Disadvantages: Uncertainty Over Safety
Mobile phones have been around for a number of years now. But it is only in the last two that they have become so popular amongst people of all ages. Because of this, the question of safety is again very dominant. The phones have not been in use long enough for us to be trully aware of any effects they may have and while it is widely agreed that no serious health problems are cuased by phones, we cannot be trully sure. Early in the year, people were encouraged to use personal hands-free kits in order to cut down the possibility of radiation being transferred to the brain by the phones ariel. However, now it has been found that in at least two investigations, these hands-free kits can increase the radiation being passed to the brain by acting as a further ariel. Because of the continued uncertainty surrounding mobile phones, the user is left uncertain of whether problems can be caused. However, because of the benefits of mobile phones to business and personal users, even the life saving abilities of having a phone. We must ask ourselves, is it a risk worth taking. I'm sure a large majority of people have already answered this question. Although, it will do no harm for everyone to think a little about safety and this will be dominant again next year, when the mobile phone companies start publicising the radiation emission levels on the phones they are selling.
