As a child christmas was an absolute magical occasion,my mum and dad always made sure we had a big tree and left things for santa,then on christmas day there was lots of pressies and a big family occasion.
I didn't think at christmas 1994 that the next year would be any differant--how wrong could I be!!
Later in that year I found I was expecting my first child and was due on boxing day.People I spoke to said things like, oh what bad timing or you will probably be late having her anyway.But I couldn't understand what they meant,it didn't matter to me what date my baby was born but to me being due around christmas was very special.
Christmas day approched and whilst eating christmas dinner at my mums my contractions started.I didn't tell anyone apart from my husband and continued till about 6 oclock when I made my excuses and went home.
We arrived at the hospital at about 10pm christmas night and the atmosphere was great everyone wearing party hats and being very jolly.
My daughter was born at 7.42am the following morning and still the christmassy atmosphere was there.
The labour ward was full of decorations and it really had a great feel to it.
Another bonous was that between christmas and newyear it was open visiting which meant my family could come and see us when they wanted to.
Each year since then has been even more magical as we don't just have the ezxcitement of christmas we also have the excitement of my daughters birthday.
Two years on my son was born on Dec 5th so this is a really nice start to the month.
Theres his birthday then the tree and decorations go up,then we have the childrens birthday party about the 17th Dec and then that very magical day christmas and to top it all of we have a big party on boxing day which of coarse is my daughters birthday.
This year is also going to be very speciaol for us as it will be my 3rd childs first christmas.It has been a struggle over the past few month
s with him and we are really looking forward to enjoying this with them as at times it has been somthing we daren't even think about.
