Advantages: Many
Disadvantages: None....to me
My list is not so much a Christmas list but more of an anytime you want list. If you read on it will all become clear. If Santa is listening or anyone else that can make my dreams come true then please, please, please atleast grant my number one wish so I can live in peace and harmony, well, for atleast some of the time. I do of course want all the normal things at Christmas, like snow and a new bottle of perfume but this wish list would be good all year round.
1 For children to show respect and manners. I would dearly love it if children, well, teenagers mostly, would not turn into some unrecognisable form of our species and do as they are told without rolling their eyes and turning every request into an epic argument. Phew, glad I got that one out there.
2 For children to be children. By that I mean keep their innocence for longer and not be in such a hurry to grow up.
3 For children to appreciate what you do for them. You know the drill, they love what presents you buy for them on Christmas day and by Boxing day afternoon claim that they are bored. Go figure.
4 Websites and companies to perform as expected. I recently purchased, well tried to purchase, a guide to the stars book from a website, following the purchase of a telescope for my daughter for Christmas (it was what she asked for). After three weeks and numerous phone calls and emails I still have not received the book!
5 Supermarket prices to drop. I am really fed up now with the prices I am paying for the weekly shop and feel a little resentful to repeatedly lining the pockets of these supermarket giants.
6 Big car dealerships to respect their customers. Not all turn into Arthur Daley and try to rip you off and actually want to help their customers and believe that a good reputation counts.
7 To eat what ever I want at Christmas. My husband has a high metabolism and can eat whatever he likes without the worry of putting on any weight. I don't have a weight problem but I do have to watch what I eat otherwise I put on weight very easily. Darn those chocolate Roses tins. I would love it if I could eat what I wanted over Christmas ( well all the time really) and not feel guilty at all.
8 Let there be great television over the festive period. I would dearly love it if Sky were to put on some really great movies and for my Sky plus box not to fail me this year (again).
9 For excessively wealthy people to donate some of their cash to charities who are so seriously in danger of closing from lack of funds.
10 For there to be peace to all who wish for it.
I recognise that there may of been a slight theme to my first few wishes but after all it's your family who mean the most to you and whom you would do anything for so I would like overall a more harmonious family life. My other wishes may also be seen as more of a rant and appease a few of you but if the last couple of wishes could come true then life would be a great deal better.
Summary: A Christmas wish list
