Advantages: I would be happier!

Disadvantages: None!

***I found this opinion lurking in my collection, and thought I would update it somewhat!***

This Christmas is one that I am really looking forward to as it is my daughter's 2nd Christmas, and she will appreciate it more, but there are 10 things I wished for last year, and I thought it would be nice to see if they have changed.

1) I wish that my daughter could open her presents on Christmas morning with her twin brother, instead of us all just remembering him and wondering what he would have been like had he not been so ill.
*Goes without saying this will never happen, but we can have happy thoughts of him rather than sadness*

2) I wish that my husband would wake up with a huge smile on his face, and be free of the depression that has weighed upon him for such a long time.
*My husband got a lot worse before he got better, and is 100% is old self. I hope he savours every moment of Christmas this year*

3) I wish that we were free of all of our debt and free to just enjoy life, and not live from one payday to the next.
*We are now homeowners, and seem to have spare money. Life is a bit easier in this area*

4) I wish that on Christmas morning my husband would tell me that he wanted another child, and that we would try straight away.
*Hmmm, he told me last night that he does not want anymore children, but it is still not resolved!*

5) I wish that my uncle would give my mum a call and apologise for all the hateful things that have been said in the past and that they spend Christmas together and rebuild what used to be such a strong relationship.
*I am resigned to the fact that this will never happen, and it makes me eternally sad*

6) I wish that I could be confident of what the future holds for my daughter, instead of worrying about drugs, abuse, war and unemployment.
*With the events of 11th September, this is even more at the forefront of my mind, as I am sure it is with ever
yone.*

7) I wish that Fern Britton would decide to retire from television, and we would all be free of her patronising manner forever.
*Well, at least we had a break while she was on maternity leave!*

8) I wish that there would be nobody spending Christmas on their own for whatever reason and petty squabbles were put aside.
*Again, another unattainable wish, but I can make sure that nobody I know spends the time on their own.*

9) I wish that everyone would try to see something good in everyone they meet, even if they have to try very hard.
*Mmmm, I admit it is very hard to do.*

10) My final wish is that there was no war, and illness, and all death was peaceful and painless, and nobody has to watch friends or relatives suffer a painful death.
*Sigh*

Interesting op and not what I was expecting, I was thinking more along the lines of cuddly toy, etc! You certainly have had some tough times, I wish you better times, I can relate to living one pay day to the next. I disagree about Fern Britton though, I quite like her!
