Whitehouse Farm Centre is situated on the outskirts of Morpeth, Northumberland and is a great family day out. Of course there are a variety of animals here and they become very friendly when you approach with your bag of food. In addition to the usual donkey, sheep, goats etc there is also a llama, although he likes to keep to himself!

In the likely event of the great British weather being inclement there are also a range of indoor attractions and animals. These include soft play, craft workshops and a licensed restaurant. The indoor animals are well housed and have plenty of space. There is usually plenty of staff on hand to answer your questions and pick up the animals for a closer look (I must admit though that I wasn’t too happy when they did this with the snake!).

If the weather is fine for a mere 50p extra you can have a tractor ride around the farm – very bumpy!

The place is very well organized and, remarkably for a farm, relatively clean. If you have young children I can highly recommend it for an all-weather day out.
