My mother just loves candles, so I went onto a search engine and went through another link and came accross this site. I came about waxworkshop.co.uk just before Christmas and so I purchased a lot of candles as presents due to the whole family liking candles of some sort or another. I bought floating, sented, tea lights and more of the ornamental candles. I was very pleased with the response that I got from the company as I placed an order and I did not specify a colour of a candle for some reason. They sent me an email stating what colour I wanted and said that as soon as they received the repliy, they would send the goods. I half expected a small box that the postman would bring, but I was totally wrong. I got given a great big box. One small box with bubble wrap inside of a big box with extra packaging. I was very suprised with what I saw. The second thing that I was suprised about was that it was delivered by Parcel Force so I got it the day after. The overal service that I received was exceptional. The candles on the otherhand were all intact with no breaks or cracks on them due to the amount of packaging that they were in. The added packaging did not go to waste as that was also used in order to wrap the candles as gifts and used the boxes for other things. The postage and packaging is also very good as if you spend over £5 or £10 in anyone order then the postage and packaging is free plus you get a complimentary gift. For me it was one of these bum bag things. The price for this efficient service was quite reasonable, except the tea lights can be found cheaper elsewhere like Asda or Ikea, although these candles dont seem to last as long. The candles from waxworkshop do last for a while. You are looking at about 6 - 8 hours, so more than likely you are paying for the quality more than anything else. There is a range of choice to also choose from on the actual site of candles, from different stlyes, to sizes, to sents, to everything else you would expect from a candle place. This site is really for those that do spend a lot on candles, as the more you buy, the less you pay, which is well worth the money in the long run, but if you buy a lot of the candles, then you have to store them somewhere. If you like something a bit different, then you can purchase aromatherapy liquids and room scents / oils. The only problem is that the box comes in 30 small bottles. This is about enough to last a good year or so. I am sure that there are many more candle sites to go for online, but I have only used two upto now. One was waxworkshop and the other is EasyWaehouse.com. Personnally I would go to www.waxworkshop.com but I will leave that decision upto you, but the site is still worth a try.
Last year my husband bought me a deep heat massager for christmas. It turned out to be the best presents because I suffer from rheumatic pain in my shoulders and neck! It helped the pain and also relaxed me,eased my tired aching muscles, great for headaches and wonderful on your feet! I use it all the time. The massager comes with several attachments which include a facial toner, soothing and sends you to sleep, accupressor, scalp massager which believe me is pure heaven,arm/hip and thigh massager for that nasty cellulite. It also has 3 settings..massage with heat, heat or just massage. I really recommend this product for anyone who suffers from rheumatic pain or just for pleasure.Relax and sooth those tired aching muscles with the touch of a button. Prices start from as little as £9.99 from argos, mine came from boots and cost £24.99 and included aromatherapy oils. Which ever you choose for yourself or as a gift. You will know that it is just the perfect way to end those hectic long days!
The Body shop has a great deal on at the moment, if you spend £25 or over you get a present for yourself. Every year my mother asks for a gift set of White Musk from the Body Shop so I spend at least £20 there every Xmas. For me to spend £25 was not difficult! I had no idea what the present was and I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the checkout. Without any prompting at all, the girl told me that I was eligible for the free gift as I had spent exactly £25. She placed a little cloth bag in my carrier bag and I had to wait until I got home to see my free pressie! It was really quite good! I was very impressed! Inside the little cloth toiletry bag was the following - 60ml Brazil nut shampoo 60ml Brazil nut conditioner 40g white musk soap 40g oceanus soap 60ml Vitamin E body lotion 60ml Cocoa butter hand and body lotion 60ml peppermint foot lotion Quite impressive for a free gift I thought! The bag is perfect for a weekend away and contains everything you might need! I'm sure there will be plenty of people who can easily spend £25 in the Body Shop in one go and, with a present like this, who can blame you?
Many people make the terrible mistake of buying makeup, handbags, perfumes and clothes for women. Unless of course you know exactly what type and colour of makeup they use or their regular fragrance or they have pointed out the exact item that they want. But then it is no surprise is it? If you have no idea at all what to buy then you cannot go wrong with a voucher. Voucher's are available at most stores (and dooyoo). Boots do them so the Lady can choose her own makeup or fragrance. Music stores such as Virgin and HMV have a great range of CD's, Video's and DVD's for her to choose from. Depending on how much you want to spend depends on which clothing store you buy voucher's from. She can always 'add to' if the voucher is not enough for what she has chosen. Maybe you do not want her to see how much you have spent? Forget about voucher's then. Does she have a cordless shaver? Philips do great rechargeable, cordless shaver's for women. £18.50 for battery and £28.75 for mains. Think she deserves a foot massage? Argos has a range of great foot massager's ranging between £19.99 and £54.50. As long as she doesn't think you are hinting at anything then how about an electric toothbrush? (I wouldn't mind one) Again, Argos have them in a range of prices from £11.50 to £58.00! Unless she has specifically asked, do not buy anything for the kitchen! That's very impersonal and is used for everyone. If she has a mobile phone that has interchangeable covers, why not visit mobilestyle.com? They have stacks of covers and cases for most phones. That should give you a few ideas what to buy her. And if they complain you can blame me!
Ok, it's really hard for any male to think what to buy her "her". Her being, wife, mother, nan, aunt, other half. One ideal gift, I'd say which they *so* can go wrong with is Scented Candles. No, really. You can get some really cool sets! I was in Matalan on Friday, and they have some amazingly coool candle sets! They had, 2 tall candles with 2 nicely colored candle holders, for like £4! They had this gorgeous floating candle set, which came with 4 rose candles, a bowl, colored stones and that was like £10. It's probably one of the ideal gifts you cannot go wrong with, for her! So, stop your thinking and go buying! She won't be disappointed!
I have always said that the women that stare back at us from the glossy magazines arent real as they have got so much makeup on and anyone can look good if the right amount of makeup is put on the right places. Many of the big names stores have a beautican in them, so why not get the woman in your life the chance to look truely stunning. If you live anywhere near London then you have a major advantange because of the vast range of stores there. of course the ultamate has got to be Harrods. The love of your life could have her hair, nails and makeup done but of course you couldnt just take her home again so why not go the whole hog and go and see a show and maybe a night in a hotel. It would certainly make it a night to remember and you wouldnt have to spend hours walking around the shops either.
This is written by a woman for all you men out there who dont know what to get for the "missus" this year. Because lets face it you're all pretty useless at buying pressies for women. Lets start with a few facts: 1. Women love to feel sexy and theres nothing sexier than knowing that you turn someone on. 2. Using a vibrator is not a reflection on you in bed! 3. We "do it"!!! Just because its taboo for a woman to masturbate doesn't make it any less true! 4. If you're embarrassed about going into the shop, you can always buy online (www.annsummers.com) This is the perfect little ( or maybe not so little!) stocking filler. Its fun, sexy and a little bit naughty! and lets face it, its a gift for you aswell! When my partner bought me a vibrator I was a little bit shocked, very amused, and extremely curious, but I can tell you one thing, it certainly perked up our sex life. Id say just go for it, even if your partner doesnt use it, Im sure she'll see the funny side!!!
The ideal present for any woman (preferably me) is: 1. A chef to cook the christmas dinner, an exquisite menu of scumptious cuisine 2. A waiter to serve it for the family 3. Someone to clear away the mess and fill the dishwasher or do the washing up 4. A childrens entertainer to keep the children amused 5. A long scented, soothing bath, candles and a glass of wine 6.A masseur to soothe away the stresses of the day 7. A makeup assistant and hairstylist to rejunevate me before I go out for the evening 8. A chaffeur for the night along with a babysitter 9. Tickets for the theatre and a table booked at the best restaurant 10. To end the day, a large cup of cocoa, warm snug pyjamas and a comfy bed. Well I can dream can't I?
At Christmas I look around on the 'Big' morning when all the papers off the presents and wonder what has happened. I seem to think that people try so hard to find gifts for each other that they miss what is obvious.....the cliched items! As a woman of 28 I still love perfume, jewellery, beauty products, special chocolates and shopping vouchers for my favorite store. They may be obvious but they are the things I very rarely have the cash to buy for myself and see them as a real treat. I also love to recieve realy special ornaments that complement my style in the home and book vouchers always please me. I can only speak for myself but I find that people cannot see the wood for the trees and go out of their way to find things that I 'need'. The last thing I want at Christmas are the items I need like a toaster, a microwave, a vegetable steamer or a wok! I believe in order to feel appreciated those luxuries I never recieve all year round are the ticket to a very lovely Christmas. Just one word of caution, please try and look at what perfume the recipient normally wears, or buy one of those little tester gift sets with the tiny bottles for her to try and then some vouchers for her to go out and buy the bottle of her choice.
Every year at Christmas time I ask everyone for cash so I can buy what I like in the January sales....and every year some if not most of the cash I get ends up being spent on household bills because we're so broke after Christmas. But not this year, this year I've come up with a cunning plan. I've asked everyone, and I mean everyone to get me vouchers for New Look (I love New Look), so after Christmas I can splash out on some new gear, with no chance of me spending my Christmas pressie on bills!!! It could be any store you like, or maybe a couple of different ones you usually shop in, but hopefully by boxing day you'll have a wad of vouchers clutched in your hand ready to spend....good idea.....give it a try!!!
Every year I buy my wife a main present. Normally some kind of jewellery, this item normally costs around £200. But I believe that we are all children at heart and still like to see mounds of presents on Christmas morning. The solution is a trip to the body shop. I grab a basket and do a few laps of the local store, picking up soap's, oils, hair products and anything else that catches my eye. Spending another £50 or so will fill a chair on Christmas morning. The staff at the Body Shop are always willing to help so go and give it a try.
A good gift idea for any woman who takes pride in or likes to do up her nails is the Boots manicure and pedicure kit. It costs £20 and is mains rechargeable. It has several different attachments. To shape, buff, shine, dry, file nails. Most women like to do their nails and I am no exception so when I saw this in their catalogue I thought I had to take a look. So I ended up getting it as a gift for someone in the family. Most women would like something for Christmas to pamper themselves with as most of the year round you don't get a chance to go out and buy those sort of things. For this reason alone I think it is a good buy. It also comes in a nice little carry case and is definately worth the £20.
This is designed to be read by men, looking to buy a gift for that special someone. I hope the following will give you a few ideas! A bottle of her favourite perfume. It may sound obvious, but this is a luxury item that most women don't buy for themselves, so this would be much appreciated. If you have a new girlfriend and aren't sure of her tastes, you can't go wrong with Beautiful by Estee Lauder or Amarige and Ysatis, both by Givenchy. Make sure you steer clear of cheap and nasty "perfumes" like Charlie or Tweed. A voucher for a pampering session at a beauty salon or health club. A facial, massage or manicure would be very welcome to soothe away the stresses of everyday life. Theatre tickets. Take her to see a West End show (if you're close enough to London, of course!), and possibly a nice meal afterwards if you can afford it. A romantic CD or soppy video to cuddle up together with. Tasteful jewellery - a pair of gold earrings or a necklace. Nothing gold plated that will turn green and give her a nasty rash. **And from my own experiences, what NOT to buy** I was handed a large box. Oh how exciting, what is it? A Kenwood Chef. Thanks, darling, it's just what I wanted. NO NO NO!! You do not give kitchen or household appliances of any kind, for Christmas or birthdays. It's not the done thing. Underwear of the sexy kind. Unless you're very sure of your better half's taste and size, please steer clear. For our first Christmas together, my boyfriend (now my husband) gave me a suspender belt and a pair of french knickers in pillar box red. Oh, and a red handbag too. Lovely. Needless to say, they were never worn. ****HAPPY SHOPPING!!****
