Premium Review Other locations...: Neath (153 words)
by - written on 09/07/00 (Very useful, 20 readings)
Rating:

Neath is a fairly busy market town in West Glamorgan, South Wales. It has a good selection of shops, from shops selling local crafts to top name clothes shops. There is a permanent market in the town centre where you can buy meat, fish, books, sweets and almost anything else. There is a large fair based in the town every September, which has been happening for hundreds of years. There are rides in one area of town and in the pedestrianised centre you will find a hundred stalls selling everything under the sun. However, the best bit about Neath, is the surrounding countryside. Neath is the perfect base to go exploring many places such as country parks (Brecon ...  Read the complete review

About 20 min by car/taxi from the Cardiff Centre there is a new hotel called Vale of Glamorgan Hotel, Golf & Country Club. Opened at the end of 1999, everything is wonderfully new. Surrounded by hills and its own golf course it is very quiet and relaxing. We went for a Health Spa Weekend for which the hotel does special offers. It cost us £99 per person per night (minimum 2 nights) includes breakfast and dinner , and 4 different massages in the Heron Health Spa which is located right next to the hotel. This is a weekend for someome who wants to get away from it all and simply relax. The pampering massages, jacuzzi, swimming pool etc are more than enough ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other locations...: The edge of the world (132 words)
by - written on 01/07/00 (Useful, 15 readings)
Rating:

The western end of the Llyn peninsular is a totaly unique place, unlike any other in this country. What makes it so special is that once you reach Aberdaron, there is only one way out - only one road east, to Abersoch, and then eventually to Snowdonia. As a result the place feels like an Island, and you can find several places where you can see the sea in three directions at once. The area is very rural, filled with isolated villages and farms, most of which have some interest in tourism, but the area is never overrun by visitors. The countryside is rugged, although not mountainous, with numerous isolated coves and beaches. There is a feeling of peace here that ...  Read the complete review
