Advantages: Light weight , Funky Looking
Disadvantages: Could be too Funky Looking
Well here is another new phone from Trium the Neptune its should be out in the shops any time now has I have had one to use for a couple of days thought I would tell u all what I think of it. Well up until now it has to be said that mobile phones have not exactly been colourful in the UK. Just have a look the next time you’re in a phone shop think you will see what I mean. So the Neptune makes you take notice of it straight away as soon as you see the sticking colours. In fact when looking at the Neptune it reminds you of the Apple Macintosh with its translucent plastic. Due to this you can see all the inside workings of the phone very nice if you like that kind of thing. The one I have been using had a orange flip and battery cover the neat feature of this phone is that you can remove these and customise it to any colour you like. The design makes it easy to see that the market being targeted is youth. But the plastic casing does give the impression that it could be rather weak if dropped or banged etc. When you grip the phone tightly you sometimes find the battery casing becoming loose which is very annoying. The phone though is quite light weight only 120g. I must admit that the call quality is much better than I expected and I could find no faults with it you can hear people well and the signal never drops to cause call dropping. The menu on this phones is just the same as older Triums so if you have used one before you will not need the instructions. But if like myself you where looking forward to seeing what new features it has you will be disappointed as there are non. It has all the standard features vibrate and wap and sms etc. You also get games and a speakerphone for handsfree use very nice indeed. The talktime is around 180 minutes and standby is 130hours. The wap unlike on some of phones is very easy to use and can be controlled by soft keys. These have been programmed for easy access to the internet which makes thing
s so much easier. It offers the ability once online to bookmark up to ten of your favourite web sites. So at the end of the day how does the Neptune rate? Well if you want a funky handset that makes a real statement, you could do worse than try out the new Neptune. And while it might look too much like a toy for some people’s tastes ( including mine ) it’s a top notch performer.

- 12/02/02 Hey, you're not talking about a Nokia! Great! I won't have a Nokia and this sounds like a consideration next time I'm buying. Thanks. |
