Newest Review: ... me will be a problem. There's a zippered pouch on the outside, intended for coins, which is luckily the right size to hold a few more cards, but they're obviously not so handy there. If you set your mind to it you might find you can prune a few cards... believe it or not, I found I have *six* of them which I only need when I go abroad! The wallet is held closed by a rather over-done leather loop, which takes both hands to open. I find you also need both hands to hold the wallet open far enough to get money in or out, which can mean a bit of juggling and embarrassment at ATMs. There's only one compartment for banknotes, wh... more

Premium Review Palm Accessories in general: m500 leather wallet case (605 words)

Your Palm's no good if you don't have it with you. But once you're loaded up with wallet, phone and (in my case) inhaler, it's tempting to leave that extra item behind. So Palm's m500 "leather wallet case", which tucks your Palm away with your cards and money, sounds a great idea. The wallet is a tiny bit bigger than the m500 but, of course, a lot thicker. That makes it pretty big for a wallet, and you can forget slipping your Palm into your shirt pocket... but it's still a reasonable size to carry in your jacket or trouser pocket (sorry, can't advise on handbags!) As a wallet it sports limited storage space, ...  Read the complete review

Well, one of my better friends gave me a Palm m100 for Christmas. I was over the moon with this gift as you'd imagine - it's not exactly a cheap present to buy a friend when you've got family to be buying for as well. After the Xmas celebrations etc I went off to Palm's website to see what accessories I could buy to jazz it up. I eventually decided on a hotSync cradle, into which the Palm slots for synchronising with your PC, and a new faceplate so that it would match my mobile. Anyway, it was of course after adding them to my basket that I got the price - $30. Roughly equivalent to £20 GBP. I then discovered ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Palm Accessories in general: Essential for the mobile user? (278 words)

The Mobile Internet Kit from Palm is a suite of applications for use with using the Internet via a mobile phone connection. The e-mail program (MultiMail PRO) is very good, one of the best I have seen, I have found it very useful for checking mail on the move using my Nokia 6210. Sending e-mails is a chore using the palm system, but can prove very useful. HandPhone SMS is a application for sending SMS messages via your mobile phone, and for downloading received messages from the phone. I did not find much of a use for this, although it will be useful if you need to archive messages or if you want to copy and paste info into a message. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Palm Accessories in general: Palm Vx Hard Case - fundamental flaw (420 words)

Having "lost" my Palm III by dropping it and it landing screen first on the corner of some furniture, I was determined to protect my new investment in a Palm Vx. Though the standard issue leater-and-card cover is lightweight and doesn't discernably make the thing any more bulky, it does have the problem that if the Palm is switched on, a reasonably light pressure on the front is enough to cause the underside of the cover to touch the screen and unpredictably "operate" the device. Given that I'm a lazybones who has the machine switch itself off after a minute of inactivity rather than have me do it, this wakness in the standard case ...  Read the complete review
