There aren't many things worse than watching your national team turn in a pitiful performance which all but ends their World Cup hopes. Well, actually there is. And that is watching your national team turn in a pitiful performance, ending their World Cup hopes, with Johnothan Pearce as the commentator. Last Wednesday, the Tartan Army's dream ended with a 2-0 defeat in Brussles against a much stronger, faster Belgian outfit. Make no excuses, the Scottish performance was dreadful and urgent change is required if we are to avoid further embarrasment in our next qualifying campaign, but Pearce's commentary was equally pathetic. Well, he certainly has his own style of commentary. Some people don't like it, others do but one thing that I can definately say is that he sure isn't John Motson! His quite high pitched voice and tendancies to scream every so often make even the most boring of football matches become alive. When Chelsea were in their European campaign during 1998/99, he commentated on most games whilst being on Channel 5. It was funny because all the press and media weren't talking about triumphant Chelsea, they were laughing at Jonathan Pearce.
