Advantages: Jarvis was lovely!

Disadvantages: Possibly too much brand new stuff.

Pulp?s set on the Saturday night at Reading was ace. They played a good mix of old and more recent songs as well as quite a bit of brand new stuff from their upcoming album. Jarvis had a great rapport with the crowd as usual and enjoyed a good natter with us between songs, unlike Liam and Noel Gallagher the previous night who spent most of the time arguing.
Jarvis? voice was as usual beautifully moving, and the rest of the band seemed to be having a really good time on stage too. Best song was ?Do you remember the first song?, also ?Something changed? and ?Sorted for E?s and whizz? were great. The stage set was also cool, with the song?s videos playing on the stage behind.
Altogether a fantastic set, although I thought they could have played some more of their older stuff rather than some of the brand new songs which nobody knew. However, I still can?t wait to hear the new album.

I agree, truly an awesome gig!
I think the balance of old and new was about right though - I think Pulp are trying to shed Disco 2000, and the new stuff really was good!
