Queens of the Stone age stand for feel good sleazy, sexy, smooth, good old fashioned rock 'n' roll. If "Rated R" doesnt make you want to lose yourself in drugs, women or alcohol you dont appreciate fine music or QOTSA. The unanimous opinion of the music press is that 'Queens...' are one of THE bands of the year. Having heard 'Rated R', I can do nothing but agree. 'Feelgood hit of the Summer' has all that makes rock great ; a pounding bass line, throaty vocals, grinding guitars et al. but, essentially, it has the best lyrics ever written anywhere, simply ' nicotine, valium, vicadan, marijuana, ecstacy and alcohol, c-c-c-c-cocaine', the track in itself is addictive, it permeates your system, it takes control, and you can't get rid of it.
