I have been watching Wimbledon for many years and i have never seen Agassi in better form but today on centre court he was outplayed against Pat Rafter. Agassi was showing all the signs of being a great champion and at the last minute against Rafter he just seemed to loose the plot completely. I am not however trying to take anything away from the way Rafter played he was amazing but i do not think that he could win in the final against the unbeatable Pete Sampras. This match was billed the contest of contrasts with Rafter’s big serve and volley game against Agassi’s excellent returning and backcourt tactics. It is often stated that the semi-finals are better matches than the final and I bet this turns out to be no exception. This epic five setter was arguably the best match of Wimbledon.
