The semi-final of Sampras versus Voltchkov went as expected with Sampras winning in straight sets with a 7-6, 6-2, 6-4 win. A seemingly comfortable score line for Sampras but in no way a reflection of the resistance showed by Voltckov. Ranked 237-th coming into Wimbledon, it would be reasonably successful to just have mqualified for the main draw.
