Advantages: Ermm they have chairs?

I am basing on review on the Supercuts that are based in the Eastleigh swan centre, Hampshire.

** A BIT ABOUT SUPERCUTS **

Their motto from their website is "Walk in anytime.

They have over 90 salons based in shopping centres all across the U.K.

Their aim is to basically never make long term appointments they like you to be able to walk in have an appointment straight away and have a quick hair cut.. for example have it done in your lunch break. Well this does all sound great!

** THE SERVICES THEY OFFER **

According to their website they offer haircuts, wash, cut and blowdrys and styling services.. Not sure what they mean by styling services to be honest they are not very clear!

** THE PRODUCTS THEY USE **

According to their website they use products from Paul Mitchell, Regis, Sebastian, Redken and Bed Head.
More like they SELL these products.. they do not use these products on their clients.. when i went there they were using pantene shampoo and conditioner and an asda thermo spray!
They have plenty of these items on their shelves ready to make a profit but it doesn't seem they like to use them on you at all.

** MY EXPERIENCE AND OPINION OF SUPERCUTS **

I am a hairdresser myself and in the hairdressing trade supercuts have a very bad name. Most of the employees are NVQ level 2 failures who manage to get employed. Its a shame supercuts have such a bad reputation because the idea is good. But to be fair if they did have amazing stylists working for them they wouldn't be able to charge as little as they do!

A couple of years back before becoming a hairdresser i really needed a quick cut before a holiday as my hair was looking dire.. i phoned around a lot of hairdressers but they were all busy, so i went into supercuts. I waited 10 minutes, i was greeted by a young stylist who shampooed my hair with the longest nails i have ever seen and scratched me to ribbons! I asked her for a trim, but what i ended up with was about 2 inches taken off and it all completely uneven! I nearly died when i got home! I had to spend lots the next day very early before we went away at a top salon getting it fixed! I wish i had done that in the first place.

A friend of mine who was on my college training course with me for hairdressing was looking for a few days a week experience in a hair salon.. she knew she would probably end up just shampooing and making tea etc but she didn't mind. She went into supercuts and explained to the manager she had only been doing the course for about 4 months and couldn't really cut hair etc.. the salon manager said she was so desperate for staff she asked if my friend could work full time and be a full stylist.. when my friend told her she didn't know what she was really doing the manager replied.. oh don't worry i can sort out any mistakes you make!
Well my friend surprisingly didnt take the job, but when she told us all at college we told her to complain. So she emailed on the contact page of their website and never got a reply.

I have a lot of friends and family who have visited supercuts over the years and have all regretted it and never returned!

I really hope one day supercuts will up their game because in this credit crunch i could see them very quickly going out of business!
I would like to state that i am not bad mouthing every employee who works for supercuts i am sure some good stylists do work in them.. i don't want to offend anyone, i am just basing my review on experiences i have had and my friends.

Avoid the place like the plague ;o)

Summary: Don't go there if you like your hair!!
