Dooyoo really like it, is it is it wicked ? (Testing in general)

Advantages: some good user statistics

Disadvantages: varied search results, the good.bad opinion box

Well its now been a couple of months since the Dooyoo site got a facelift. I see many users aren't 100% keen on the changes. to be honest I've been using Dooyoo a lot more in the past few months and now I'm having some difficulty remembering what the old one looked like.

But I do have some quibbles about the new look and re-design of the site. At first I found it hard to look at my information in my profile. It doesn't seem as easily laid out as the old style. but having said that I've got used to it and seeing my ratings, comments is what matters and I have no problems there. One new advantage is that it only takes a click of a link on your profile to see who has rated your opinions and how. This way you can really get your own back on those who've not given a Very Useful rating-Of course I'm joking, I'd never do such a thing ;)

What I liked about the old style was the fact that the home page had the various catagory headings and major sub headings on it. Now you have to go through several clicks to get to where you want. This wouldn't be as big a problem if it weren't for the search engine. For some reason it's not as good. I've typed in simple queries and got hundreds of listings without a good match to the product I want. So off through the product headings I go.

The other thing I don't like is the new good/bad opinions box on certain headings. This feature seems to have constant rotation on only a handful of products. It also seems to always be the same two opinions as well. Now with this, these two opinions in my opinion would be getting some easy ratings and points from some users without any other valid opinions on the subject getting a look in. In a way it's slim favouritism to some Dooyoo members.

But having said that, Dooyoo is still a great site and miles ahead of it's competitors. Long may it continue and long may I get lots of ratings for this opinion.
