That's right the man in the baseball shirt wasn?t actually anything to do with the party! There they stood in the middle of a room full of strangers dressed as the Statue of Liberty and an American Sailor (a la South Pacific). We didn't let them forget that one. By the way the neighbours thought it was hilarious! The next one that co...more

Premium Review Theme Party: Chilli Hot!! (611 words)

A party with a theme is both great fun to organise and even better fun to be at! There are endless themes that can be used, but my favourite ones are those that incorporate every thing, the food, the dress, the music as well as the entertainment. By far the most enjoyable and successful one that I have held was a Mexican theme. With the aid of my trusty PC I printed off invitations in the style of Airline Tickets, with the destination as Mexico. I also clearly stated that Mexican Dress was a must. Even though Mexican food has a reputation of being very spicy, if you make your own you are in total control, and can make ...  Read the complete review

I have organised two themed parties at my house - one was with a horror theme and the other was a war theme. I can't explain the enjoyment that I got out of the planning and organising of these two events but it kep't me and some of my friends occupied for a few months. Obviously this kind of thing is best left to those of you who have time on your hands - e.g. housewife - like me. The first thing is to decide what theme you want and then you follow with all the ideas for food, costumes and decor that go with that theme. One thing to remember is that perhaps a beach party would not be a good idea in the middle of winter - unless of course you ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Theme Party: Give it a theme and add to the fun (582 words)

I have just noticed this category called Theme Party and I thought I'd share a few of the theme parties that we have had over the years together with the funny stories that go with them. The first one that springs to mind is the one that my sister and her boyfriend of the day threw with a theme of America. I had decent legs in those days and went as a cheerleader, but the funny story that I remember happened to a couple of my sister's friends. The couple in question weren't absolutely certain which house my sister lived in and as it was in a street of terraced houses they all looked very similar. They knew whereabouts in the street the house ...  Read the complete review

I'm organising a Movie themed fancy dress party along with a friend to celebrate our 18ths I'd highly recommend joint parties as they halve both the cost and the effort. Based on my experience I have some (hopefully) helpful tips for anyone arranging a party. The parties on the 18th August so I’ll let you know how it goes. Costume When choosing your theme an important factor is the broadness of the category you chose, it is important that you keep a fairly broad theme otherwise your guests will find it difficult to think of costumes and may either chose not to dress up or you may end up with a few people coming as the same character. With ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Theme Party: Fancy Dress (301 words)

For the millenium we decided to throw a fancy dress party and in my opinion that was the best thing we could have done. If we had planned to go out it would have cost a fortune in babysitters and I didnt want relatives doing it as they'd be left alone why the kids slept and we'd be out so that didnt sound fair either... We had allsorts coming to our party, our youngest was only 5months and he managed to sleep through it all and my then 2.5year old slept right until midnight when he woke up and realised he was dressed as a prime footballer...I was a french-maid and my husband made a perfect woman! There were very few people who actually used a proper ...  Read the complete review
