Advantages: A full satisfying meal for all the family together, easy to prepared and serve

Disadvantages: becareful not to burn it

I absolutely love christmas time and i always have my family around for chrismtas dinner each year. Altogether i cook for five adults and seven children. It's a bit of a squeeze at the dining room table but we all manage and it's the only time of the year we do all come together for dinner.

I tend to do a three course meal and i cook what people all like in my family.

On the table aswell is drinks that include, bottle of red and white wine, non alcoholic drinks such as water and fizzy white and red grape drink in a bottle like a wine shape (sorry can't remember what it's called as my sister generally brings it with her for the children and i'm of course on the white wine, lol)

First Course:

A choice of three starters:

A soup of their choice accompanied by a bread roll warmed up with butter.
Garlic mushrooms on a bed of mixed leaf salad with sour cream and chive dip.
Prawn cocktail - prawns again on a bed of salad with seafood sauce.

Everyone generally has the same for the main meal and this is:

Crown turkey breast - brought from my local butchers for around £25.00,
Chippolata sausages wrapped in streaky bacon,
Stuffing mixed with sausage meat rolled out into small balls,
Little yorkshire puddings,
Roast potatoes and roast parcnips
Fresh vegetables prepared the night before and these are; carrots, sprouts, cauliflour, cabbage,
And to finish this all off with gravy and sauces such as bread sauce.

For sweets after i have a few choices again as we all like different puddings for afters and theses are:

Tradional christmas pudding served with either cream, custard or ice cream,
Sticky toffee pudding again served with either cream, custard or ice cream,
Chocolate profitteroles covered in lots of chocolate
Plain vanilla ice cream.

All this is the washed down with a lovely cup of coffee freshly brewed in our coffee maker.

I love doing this every year for my family we wouldn't have it any other way.

Summary: I love chrismtas dinner with all my family and i love preparing/cooking for them all
