Advantages: Great Christmassy atmosphere

Disadvantages: Takes a lot of time and patience to prepare

I think Christmas is really enhanced by Christmas Dinner - Traditional Christmas Dinner. One of my friends parents suggested that there family go to a put for Christmas lunch.

She, like myself, thinks this is a horrible idea! Half the fun of Christmas is preparing Christmas Dinner - especially if your parents do the majority of it. To hear your parents rushing frantically to get everything cooked at the same time - the full trimmings - is excellent!. My Dad searching for the cookery book to see the weights of the ingredients for yorkshire puddings - he makes them all the time but always has to check the cook book!

Bacon wrapped stuffing is just the best, as are brussel sprouts , carrots, mini sausages, cabbage - SWEDE!, and the wine - what a touch. Family Christmas dinners rock - there is so much activity going on and everyone chips in with the preparation.

Being a student, a decent meal isn't eaten all that often so Christmas time is great - good grub for at least a week!

My advice to anyone whose parents want to lunch at a pub for Christmas is ARGUE TILL YOU GET YOUR WAY AND HAVE THE TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS DINNER AT HOME! You can't beat it!
