V2000

Newest Review: ... the highlight of the day, the atmosphere when they played "Why does it always Rain on me" was electric, especially when heavy rain had been forecast for the day but it had stayed bright and clear. Their rendition of Britney Spear's "Baby One More Time" was fantastic as well, although no-one seemed to recognise the song until half way through! It was an unusual choice but it worked well and beat Britney's version hands down. Most of Sunday was spent in the Bacardi Breezer tent where Latino music is played throughout the day. There was a great, relaxed atmosphere in this tent and we found it the best place to s... more

Premium Review V2000: What a weekend (282 words)

As I live in Chelmsford it would be rude not to go to this festival! The line up for 2000 didn't have any major headliners as in previous years did but there was still enough variety to make sure everyone was entertained. On the Saturday we managed to see the All Saints (surprisingly good), Macy Gray and Travis. For me Travis were the highlight of the day, the atmosphere when they played "Why does it always Rain on me" was electric, especially when heavy rain had been forecast for the day but it had stayed bright and clear. Their rendition of Britney Spear's "Baby One More Time" was fantastic as well, although no-one seemed to ...  Read the complete review

The front row experience-V2000 A weekend at V2000 you will never forget, It's almost guaranteed you will get wet. The front row is the only place to be, But anywhere really you're bound to see. Forget getting hungry or needing the loo, Once part of the crowd you're stuck like glue. Jump up and down, swing left to right, Don't let those stars get out of sight. All the great bands from Toploader to Macy Gray, Will make you not want to leave, come the end of your stay. I was part of a scramble for Cyprus Hills drum stick, And a repeat performance was needed for Travis' guitar ...  Read the complete review

V2000: V festival rules!! (142 words)

I have been to the V festival at chelmsford for the last 2 years now and I think that it is one of the best organised festivals that I have been to and it also bosts a wide range of talent. This year Having such bands as Travis, Moby and Richard Ashcroft headlining. I saw Travis and Ashcroft and they were absolutly excellent. I still think though that V99 was better with the likes of Travis (again), Stereophonics, Suede, Manic street Preachers, Super Furry Animals, James Brown (the godfather of soul) and many other great acts. I would just like to say though both years that I have been It has been brilliantly organised and well signposted as well as having the top bands. ...  Read the complete review

This was the best of the festivals for me although it reportedly lost a lot of money. Criticised for not having too many big names, the V festival felt safe and had lots of attractions. Highlights for me (I went to the Chelmsford version) were the Barenaked Ladies, who were so good they distracted the security guards, and Coldplay, who were obviously booked before they were famous and put in the 4pm slot (next year, they’ll probably headline Glastonbury!). Beth Orton and Moby also entertained. Nicest touch for me was a Nestle tent where they were giving out free Golden Grahams cereal with free milk. I must have had ten bowls over two days! By the way, I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review V2000 Worth the wait! (280 words)

I've been going to the 'V' concerts for about 4 years and every single one seems to out-do the last. The music, I guess is why most people go but the reason my friends and I go is for the buzz. You can't out-do the buzz of this many people jumping around, just glad to be there. If anyone doesn't know about the concert its what i would describe as a variety of grunge/rock/dance and pop bands. There are about 4 stages, two dance tents, a load of stalls, virgin and bud promotion tents and a bacardi tent. You Cannot get away from the music. This year Virgin some great offers to go with the concert, you could rent a mobile (s35i) out for ...  Read the complete review
