Advantages: Can make some delicious meals with turkey
Disadvantages: Can get sick of turkey after a while
I think most people are like me, and buy a turkey that is far too big for there needs. After me and my family have had the main Christmas dinner, we are left with loads of meat. So I have a thought of loads of ways to get rid of the spare meat. Salads. Salads are a great way of getting rid of that turkey meat. You can make lots of different salads with turkey as the main ingredient. For a quick salad add a bit of lettuce a few tomatoes and a bit of cheese, then smother the whole lot with salad cream. You can make up your own recipes, basically add what ever you like. It could be anything that takes your fancy. Sandwiches. Sandwiches are an easy way to get rid of the leftovers. My mum prefers turkey by it's self. But I like to make huge turkey sandwiches. I add what ever I can to the sandwich. First I put on the turkey, then some cheese, a bit of spam, then some lettuce, and to finish off I put either pickle or salad cream to flavour the sandwich. FryUp. My favourite way of getting rid of the turkey is to make a big fry-up. It's really easy to do. Chop the turkey up into small pieces, and put it into the frying pan, then add half a jar of Ragu. Leave until it's hot. You then have a really delicious meal. If you want to, butter a few slices of bread to dunk in the sauce. Dogs. Don't leave your dogs out at Christmas. I give my dogs the Turkey neck, and all the brown greasy meat. Be careful thought, don't give your dog the bones, as they are similar to chicken bones, and could get stuck in your dogs throat. Pies. I make about 3 pies with the left over turkey. Just add carrots and gravey to the turkey and put this mixture in a pie. Some people say this is dangerous, but it has never done me or my family any harm. So it's up to you if you want to try this method out. I hope this will be of help to people who just don't know what to with the lef
t over turkey.
