Thanks Homer Simpson for that funny! With most folks going for the favourites let's back an outside donkey for the big prize.Fifth in the South American qualifiers this lot of kickers (VS Scotland in 1986!) got in the back door by beating Viduka,Kewell et all in the play offs. For that alone be thankful as the Aussies win everything else. The bookies make them outsiders,a lowly 18th in the betting behind such leading lights as Japan,Turkey and even England! Don't worry I'm just bitter that Scotland aren't getting their traditional three games this time around! It could happen though. If the Germens torpedo that Nike ship where all the players live my guys could come up the outside. And don't forget they won before, but only when balls were big and shorts were too. The tournament will be something special with Sushi bars knocked over by rampaging Cockneys looking for whelks whilst the Japenese apologise for cracking their heads. The only other reasonable analysis whould be to focus on the countries' respective lagers brands. My guys' favourite brand (off to Google...)Quinsa is clearly a match for most although the Belgians Stella can never be discounted.Sadly Boddies sees England off early on although Tennants will see the Scots not even reaching the qualifiers. So lets don our floppy hats (probably) start a junta and get behind those kings of football - Uruaguay! Just don't put any cash on them...
