Disadvantages: none

This has to be one of the most promising England squads we have ever seen. With Man Utd midfielder finding his feet as the national captain marvel and eradicating his infamous reputation after being sent off in the World Cup Finals in France. And the genius behind the now qualifying favorites of the world cup group is the brilliant Sven Goran Eriksson. Since his arrival from then Serie A Champions Lazio the team has had a new and improved look to it and Sven is finally getting the most out of England’s ‘cream of the crop’.
He has turned what seemed a lost cause of qualifying for the World Cup into a sure certainty as the Germans’ will have to settle for second best again. Before Sven’s arrival the FA were already thinking forward to the 2008 finals but now we are a force to be reckoned with and will hold our own against the worlds finest next year.
He already has an impressive record with the team and the icing on the cake had to be the 5-1 thrashing of the Germans in ‘their own backyard’, the Olympic stadium in Munich. The English talent has been shining in the Premiership with Michael Owen, Emile Heskey, Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler all giving Liverpool a great start to the premiership, needless to say Beckham and co at United performing well week in, week out (although certain foreign imports looking shaky at the back, but I’m sure that’s a different story!).
The English national team has been sneaking up the FIFA world rankings since Sven’s arrival, and rightly so, he has done a lot better than previous National coach Kevin Keegan and with basically the same squad, no excuses eh Kev?!
England are a dead cert to beat the Greeks on Saturday 6th October even without the brilliance of Michael Owen and then the only way will be up for England and Sven’s men.

Sorry for the lower rating but this opinion didn't reallt tell me much about World Cup 2002 - what about the venue and other teams?

As a Welshman, living in Scotlan, I'll laugh my socks off if the Greeks 'cream' all over England on Saturday (lol) I'm sure it won't happen ...

I think we'll get turned over by the Greeks - 1-2 with Beckham getting a late penalty though it won't be enough. Fairly confident about the playoffs though
