Advantages: no extra cost, enviromentally friendly

Disadvantages: nedding to change it regularly

Don't you just hate it when you've spent hours in the garden turning over the soil, weeding, planting and making the garden look really nice...then when you are asleep the cats creep out for their nightly stroll and head straight for your freshly tidied garden to perform their bodily functions.

They never do it in their own gardens, have you noticed? A solution is to make use of the Citrus peel that you would normally throw away.

The cats hate the smell of the orange, lemon, lime, satuma or clementine peel. Leave it amongst the flower beds and they'll leave it alone. It may look a bit silly but far better than having the smelly and unsightly deposit, especially if you have kids using the garden. It's safe to use and doesn't harm the cats or any other creature.

You will need to change the peel quite regularly as it dries up, every couple of days should do it.

My cats do it in my garden as well. We have now put a tray in the shed that they use.

Interesting idea, but my cats do it in my garden! I keep a specially dug area under a bush for them, which I regularly add topsoil to. Round here its the only way they can dig as the soil is solid clay.
