Advantages: Access to a garden

Disadvantages: maybe a distance from home

Gardening has always been an interest of mine but because of a lack of space at home my garden is only 30 ft x 30 ft half of that is slabs, I've been limited to a few outdoor Tomato plants in Gro bags and border plant's in pot's and trough's to add a bit of colour.
This all changed a couple of years ago when I paid a chance visit to my local Allotment Garden society.
I toured the vacant plots there were lots of them until I found something that I thought would suit me I knew straight away when I saw the one I wanted.
A couple of years on my gardens are nearly how I want them ( I've got three now) and this way of gardening is definately for me.
I now grow some excellent quality veg and have a good few disaster's too, but we don't need to buy to much supermarket veg these days were pretty self sufficient.
I also grow bedding and border plants for the family and friends and my Dahlia's and Chrysanths add a bit of colour to the allotment.
Theres a big bed of Strawberries and lots of Raspberrys and currents too.
On the whole I get great pleasure and satisfaction from my gardens and ive met a new group of freinds who have learnt me a lot about gardening.
So if your like me and you don't have much space a allotment may be the solution I'd recommend one anytime.
