Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Just about everything

My Keston Celcius 25P lpg boiler was installed approximately three years ago. Since that time it has broken down on several occasions, and has required two replacement circuit boards.

The latest failure occured last week (5.2.08), and on inspection it was discovered that the control unit had melted. The Keston engineer inspected the damage, and informed me that it was beyond economical repair. This after three years of operation.

I telephoned Keston and spoke to the "Senior Technical Help Manager" who confirmed that the boiler was not worth repairing, refused to put this in writing, and stated that Keston were not prepared to take any action to compensate me for the failure of their unit.

Hardly the actions of a responsible Company, or one demonstrating confidence in their product. Customer satisfaction is obviously of no concern to them.

Has anybody experienced the same problem, or managed to get the Company to accept responsibility for their product?

Summary: Not to be recommended

You could take action under the sale of good act, which states goods must be fit for purpose for 6 years. If the company won't help. write to them and send a copy to trading standards.
