Installed 2004 - since then 3 new heat exchangers, 3 major leaks from the flue and spigot, 2 news front covers as so rusted, problems with pressure dropping, fuses blowing etc etc involving 20 visits to date. Am at my wits end - husband just died too - don't know where to go - Rogue Traders/lawyer.........advice welcome. Now awaiting new back cover as rusted away plus another new flue pipe connection due to another leak.
NEVER EVER EVEN CONSIDER BUYING A KESTON BOILER - now owned by Ideal.

This boiler is over-complicated and is not engineered very well, hence is not reliable. I have installed one, and been called back several times- all due to production quality issues including a leak due to the screws on the heat exchanger being loose. Keston came out to this and claimed to have fitted a new exchanger (I didn't reveal my findings) but they certainly did not. Badly crimped wires on the thermistors was another fun item. The tech support doesn't seem to know anything about these units, and the engineers sent to fault find are little better than chimps- they certainly have no electronic fault finding abilities. Now I have a call-out because it fires up at random even with the controls off. I can't recommend these units at all: go for a Glowworm!

Since moving into our house 3 years ago this month, we have had a problem with the boiler every winter. We have replaced the circuit boards (£150 + labour) and the ignition electrode. Ive lost count of the money we have spent on it and it still doesn't work. Our experienced plumber (he's had the misfortune to have worked of this model before) has ... Read the complete review

There was a Celcius 25 in the property we rent and it failed. It had a number of boards replaced before the heat exchanger failed and it was game over.
The landlord has replaced it with a Keston Qudos and it took over a week for an enginner to visit when it was installed as it kept shutting down and in the week since it was finally got up and running it has blown a fuse twice and we are awaiting a visit from an engineer.
All told we have had the past six and a half weeks with no heating.
If it was my house I'd avoid Keston at all costs.

Our Keston25's been installed for just inder 6 years. Recent replacements include 3 circuit boards, the 4 sensors, 2 fan units, 1 transformer - and we've re-sited the flue to make it easier for this Keston wheeze machine to push out the plume. It's broken down each year since we installed it. Get a contract if you are an unfortunate owner of one of these dreadful boilers; and make sure you've at least got an immersion heater to cope with the cold when this overcomplicated rust bucket breaks down.

Anyone had any problems with this boiler? Over the last 4 years it has been replaced (yeah I know - a new one), 4 new PCBs, tension lead.... Now it is leaking from the front and has caused the fuses in the house to blow. I had a Keston service in September (useless - they refunded) Details below ... Read the complete review

Avoid at all costs. While the boiler and condenser seem to work well, I have had ongoing problems from new with the ancilaries in the boiler.
Best thing about this boiler is it is no longer available. Lets hope spares keep being stocked as they will be needed. The electrical circuit boards are expensive and competent plumbers who know this boiler in the north of the UK seem to be sparse

My four year old keston boiler has just broken and the heat exchanger needs to be replaced (£600) despite having been serviced twice (£170 per visit) most recently two months ago when it got the all clear from the engineer. Keston is not interested in the fact that the boiler is only 4 years old nor the fact that it was just recently serviced and given the all clear. I am thinking of replacing the keston with another boiler can anyone recommend a better company and boiler?

I bought a C55 Keston. it was very expensive and is the most unreliable, useless crock of sh*t I have ever installed. It broke down within 4months of installation. Keston replaced nearly every working part and still it doesn't work reliably though it's only 3years old. How did they win all those awards? If anyone reads this, DO NOT INSTALL ONE ... Our Keston Celsius25 has broken down three times since we moved into our house last May (blockage, 2 PCB fuses and a siezed fan unit). Keston themselves are helpful and responsive but I find this all rather frustrating considering the boiler is less than 3 years old! In hindsight I should have taken out a British Gas Homecare contract out a lot sooner. Especially when the Keston engineer first came out last year and said "Oh, I've been out to this boiler a couple of time before". If you have this boiler - GET A CONTRACT!

Celcius 25 - After less than a year of use (since May 07) this boiler needs 2 new circuit boards (£100 each), a new heat exchanger (£500) and now a new pressure vessel (cost ?) - all plus VAT. Because it was fitted to a rennovated property more than a year ago, Keston refuse to take any responsibility and have tried to hide behind installation issues such as copper not plastic used to connect the condensate drain. Having removed the boiler it is found that the pressure vessel has failed and is full of water. 2 visits by the Keston engineer but fault was not discovered - he suggested problem was a leak on the c/h pipework - now pressure tested & no leak found. The boiler is a write off and Keston are not at all interested. AVOID these boilers & KESTON LKE the plague in my view.

My Keston Celcius 25P lpg boiler was installed approximately three years ago. Since that time it has broken down on several occasions, and has required two replacement circuit boards. The latest failure occured last week (5.2.08), and on inspection it was discovered that the control unit had melted. The Keston engineer inspected the ... Read the complete review

absolutely appalling. `one problem after another. Keston themselves want nothing to do with their product once they've taken your money. How they are still in business is a mystery. Every third heating engineer I've talked to to try and have it repaired said they won't touch Keston.

This boiler is awful. Ours is 4 years old (came installed with our brand new Westbury home) and it has broken down EVERY year, but something different has gone wrong every time. I'm sure it has been rebuilt twice already. We've now been without heating and hot water for over a week. The insurance company struggled to find anyone who had knowledge of this system let alone a specialist on them! We are now having to replace it completely as it has gone beyond economical repair. And this is just after 4 years! Avoid this like the plague. Every engineer that has come to see it has also said this! Don't think you are saving money...pay a bit extra for quality. I don't want to give this any stars at all, but you have to give a minimum of one to submit the review!

Keston boilers are a nightmare. Ours has gone wrong 3 times in 6 years. Getting it serviced or repaired is almost impossible. This time after our third engineer, I have decided to ditch it and get a decent brand boiler. I even asked Keston if they could come and help after my nightmare, and they had the cheek to say my 6 year old boiler was obsolete and could they sell me a new one, but they would not maintain it. DO NOT GO NEAR KESTON with a barge pole.

Myself and my 4 immediate neighbours all have this boiler. Avoid it like the plague. It breaks down with frighteneing regularity and we have struggled to find anyone who will touch it to repair. The house builder Westbury don't exist anymore and their replacement Persimmon don't want to know about it.It's only just over 2 yrs old and has never worked properly. We also have friends in other estates with the same problems with theirs.

Keston is a good concept but getting the boiler serviced regularly or finding a service contract is a nightmare. Our boiler has gone wrong 5 times in 3 years. I could not recommend anyone to ever choose this boiler, pick something more mainstream, it's worth paying a little more for your boiler if it is reliable and (if it isn't as mine is) you ... I have installed 4 of the Celsius 25 boilers and I now specify them on every job I am asked to quote for. You can see some real life installation examples in the reference section on my website.
