Greenwich, London Borough of ... moved to this borough in January 2008. Within a few days I received, unsolicited, the "Greenwich Time" - a "newspaper" which I can only describe as a propagandist rag. Given that Greenwich Council prides itself on its environmental credentials, I can only say that wasting resources in such a way is, to say the least, ironic, in that they produce loads of paper that tells you how to save paper! Like most Council s nowadays, Greenwich has a totalitarian approach to waste removal: Dare to transgress the strict recycling policy (ie: wrong thing in wrong bin), and your rubbish won t be collected. Due to the crumbly, soft, boulder clay rocks on this area of coastline, the cliff is eroding at a rate of 0.94-5.6m a year. This is mainly down to the processes of marine erosion, and particularly mass movement processes. For example, the falling of rocks due to the cliff being undercut by the sea, mudflows due to rain, and most of all: slumping. This occurs, when rapid marine process such as abrasion (rocks carried in ... Read the full review: Coastal Erosion - Easington by jac22 |
