Banners and Buttons on dooyoo in general

Advantages: Income

Disadvantages: Annoyance

Buttons and banners are present on nearly every web page on the net and have become more and more popular now the internet has taken off.

Buttons and banners are a way for the creators and designers of the site to gain a source of income. Companies will pay the sites creators to post such a banner which is basically just an advert. It’s just a way for other companies to advertise or make there name known on other sites.

Buttons and banners are in my opinion, alright in moderation. If there are just too many it can get annoying; you’ve gone to that side to read/look at that site, not just to read banners. As long as there small and don’t keep popping up, then I honestly don’t mind.

***DOOYOO BANNERS***

The dooyoo site it mainly funded by such advertising, so we cannot expect not to have advertising. I don’t mind most of the advertising that is on the site, small banners at the top of pages and small logo’s in certain places, I most certainly don’t mind.

What I do mind is the adverts that “pop up” or load in a separate window, which I get fed up of closing, as I said we cant grumble to much, these adverts are a good source of income.

***THE WORST TYPE OF AVERTISING***

The fist type of annoying advertising, are those banners that pop-up, the second type of advertising are the ones that stick there addresses in your favourites, in which I constantly have to go thought them deleting pages I have never head off. I thank dooyoo for this and hope that they never resort to this type of internet terrorism.

No doubt there will be a banner a the bottom of this opinion, and to the left, and right, and top; but that’s Dooyoo for yoo?!!

Ugh, the worse pop-ups are the ones that pop-up, then hide under the page so they can load properly before you can get to them in time THEN when you DO close them, they open up another one...and another...and another!!!! ARRGGHHHH!!!!!!

Or the new ones which come bursting out of the page(Death To Smoochy ad drove me nuts for weeks) and won't go away(nor do the pop-up killers block them) until they've played their stupid, noisy animation! (Gamecube I mean you!)

Thankfully dooyoo hasn't resorted to these yet - CIAO on the other hand did(b*st*rds). I don't think anyone minds banners, hell I even click a few just to do the site a favour occasionally, but pop-ups are a pain in the arse.

I agree, I don't think any of us mind the banners that aren't intrsuive as it keeps the site going, but those pop up and in your face ones urghhh.
