Having lived in Barnet for the last nineteen years of my life, I have come to the conclusion that Barnet is in fact one of the most boring places on the Earth. The only attractions that Barnet has to offer is a five screen Odeon cinema that is having difficulty in competing with the UGC in Enfield and the Finchley Warner Village; and the Spires Shopping Centre, probably one of the worst shopping centres if you want anything half decent. If you want that you have to travel to somewhere like Brent Cross, Lakeside or the Harlequin Centre in Watford. One thing I do like about Barnet is the idea of a coffee shop in a bank, but you can read about that later ...  Read the complete review

It is now coming to the end of the financial year for the various local borough councils around the country and it is clearly evident which have the money. Barnet is one such council, as currently they are undertaking a mass program of road improvements to try and dispose of all that...erm disposable income. Roads are being resurfaced, potholes filled and traffic lights installed all over the borough. Things which in my opinion are all very welcome, but not necessarily needed, as Barnet seems to have some of the best kept roads and pavements out of all the London boroughs.
