Brent is a multi cultural borough in NW London. There have been reports in the local press about the lack of community facilities for young people. However, the council have recently agreed to sell a Community sports Centre (John Billam) to a group that will only allow the rest of the community access to the facilities for 20 hours a week (at their convenience). It appears that the Council would rather take the £500,000 that they have been offered for (a 125 year lease on) this property than to spend money on it so that it can be used by retained for use by the whole of the community.
