Now then, every time that I come on to Dooyoo, and TRY to log in I always, always get stopped by the little pop up window that flashes up on my screen. Without thinking I automatically close it and move my cursor over to the log in box. Usually, when I type in the first letter of my username, a little shortcut appears just below, and it remembers my log in information. However, when I have closed this window, it never ever remembers me and I have to type all of my info back in!! This really gets on my nerves, like I mentioned in my other recent opinion on the category ‘Buttons and banners on Dooyoo’. I know that they I doing it for the benefit of advertisements and more customers to their site, but you know why is it the same one over and over and over again?? Some people might dis agree with me with my case, others might agree, if so leave some advice on the comments function for me and I will update my opinion as soon as possible. I know that the first paragraph is about my experience, so now here’s my advice if this log in situation occurs with you!! ***Advice*** If you are trying to log in and one of these banners flicks up and you don’t want to lose your log in information, don’t and I repeat don’t close the window. This always works for me because if I don’t close it I don’t loose my information and as soon as the page goes and returns the banner has gone. (I nearly always forget myself and close it before I’ve logged in though!!) I sincerely hope that my opinion has helped you. I doubt it though!!! (LOL) ***UPDATION*** With BT Internet, this advert tells you all you need to know. BT still has a monopoly on telecoms in this country. BT has set a price on monthly unlimited internet access so no one can undercut them without losing serious money. Why does it cost so much? It must be because they don't want to let the other companies
sign people up, because I know lots of people who would sign up if it was £10 pm but not at £15pm. Bad Points: From an advertising perspective it would not tempt me personally to click it. It is dull and uninteresting. Clicking on the banner takes the surfer to a sign-up page within the BTopenworld domain where they can find out additional information about the service offered. All in all I think this is a very unremarkable banner which could be improved with a splash of colour or more sensational text. As someone who tends to blank banners out anyway this is a great banner because I don't even notice it is there. From a 'getting clickthroughs' point of view I find it hard to believe that it would tempt very many people to click it.

BT still has a monopoly on telecoms in this country. BT has set a price on monthly unlimited internet access so no one can undercut them without losing serious money. Why does it cost so much? It must be because they don't want to let the other companies sign people up, because I know lots of people who would sign up if it was £10 pm but not at £15pm. These adverts are everywhere, the text in them is virtually pointless now because everyone switches off as soon as they see it is a BT advert, and the idea of calculating how much you would save is so utterly silly. I restrict my internet access at home at the moment purely because it does cost me money. If it was unlimited use then I would do more of the things I like doing or find useful but cannot due to the costs. If I was spending more than £15 pm on the internet I think I would know about it and switching to an unlimited use service would be blindingly obvious. Please stop treating us as simpletons BT.

Considering BTi Has just had the ASA (advertising standards agency) withdraw all of its TV adverts I think that dooyoo should now do the same. BTi claims that its 'anytime' service allows you to dial up 24/7, but in reality you cant even get connected and if you do you get dissconnected within 2 mins sometimes. If you ever get a connection it is bad and slow,. Of course these are only my views on this currently getting worse service.

I the new Bt Internet and Freeserve are hard to choose from because of the good adverts.Freeserve say there any time is only £12.99 a month for 24 hours a day surfing for free but there is two chatch which are you need a Bt line and you have to have Bt surftime to make the phone number work. With Bt internet there is only one chatch you have to have a Bt line which most people have so its not as bad as Freeserve.I used to have Freeserve hometime but I changed to Bt internet Any time.To cancel Freeserve it is very hard because the person who opened it has to close it Rubbish. To get a Bt internet C.D call:0800800150. Hope you liked my opinion.

The simple black and white graphic say "functional" but also make the banner very easy to miss. The message is clear enough, but didn't really get my attention, perhaps because I am not watching the clock. BT should bear in mind that most serious net users are already signed up to some deal or another that allows them less limited access. People who already have a deal will not look so hard at the little stopwatch on the screen.

The BT Anytime banner that I am writing about is a standard 468 x 60 pixel rectangular banner. It has a white background with blue writing at the top left-hand side which says 'BTinternet Anytime'. On the right-hand side there is a graphic depicting a keyboard and monitor (displaying a picture of the British Isles) which takes up almost a third of the banner length. Under the BTinternet Anytime text is changing text which says in turn "Isn't it time you switched to the UK's fastest growing ISP" (black writing), "For a fast, reliable internet service" (black writing), "Click here" (red writing). The only other point of note is that the graphic of the British Isles depicted on the monitor changes from blue-outlined to blue-filled to red-filled. All in all this banner is unremarkable. I personally use BTinternet as my ISP, but if I didn't I don't think that this banner would tempt me to visit the site. Good Points: It is unobtrusive. It doesn't flash with annoying colours. It loads quickly. Advantages

                Disadvantages

Lets make it clear from the start. I am not one of those people who thinks that websites should be totally free from advertising and depsites the couple of seconds extra that a banner ad takes out of their day when it comes to loading a page. I realise that for most pages to stay up and running, there needs to be some way to generate revenue from them. Banners are one way to do this and its all good. What DOES however annoy me are the pop-up ads!! When will advertisers finally come to realise that people do not read these things...other than to find out who is annoying at that particular moment and vow never to touch their products again before closing it for the umpteenth time(ready for it to reopen at the next page view!). Most of the time I close them before the thing has time to even load up what it is advertising - I already know that I am NOT interested in their product because they tried to force it upon me. I have enough windows open when surfing that I do not need another leaping out at me and threatening to overload my system to the point where it crashes. Well, BT in their infinite wisdom decided that these are a good idea and dooyoo would be a good place to advertise. Time was when the things would pop-up all over the place, but now its only in certain sections that they appear. Guess I should be kinda grateful? I think not. One thing is for sure though, they are at least tastefully designed, and do not open up ten more when you close it like some others have been know to do. Nevertheless, I say save these things for Ciao where they seem to have pop-ups all over the place, springing up on the homepage evertime you hit it. Dumb, annoying and one of the reasons I use that site very little - they obviously couldn't give a damn about their users. I know that Dooyoo does care, and its a shame to see these here at all, but at least they are not everywhere... BT? Your pop-ups suck...nobody likes pop-ups...surely no-one
even looks at them anymore...and surely advertisers should know this by now. The only time I have clicked on pop-ups is by mistake when undershooting the X to close the things. I suppose this one is small and tasteful at least - not obscuring half the screen when it arrives but still...isn't it time we moved past these stupid things...

                  Disadvantages

The BTInternet ads seem to be everywhere at the moment but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. The ads tend to use a clean, efficient design aesthetic and aren't so irritating that you immediately feel the need to navigate away from the page which shows that banner ads can be eyecatching without resorting to gaudy colours and too much animation. The banner adverts are amusing without being condescending and they do make a pretty good point about having 24 hour access! The link opens in a new window without triggering any other irritating pop-ups and the information on the page is direct and easy to understand.

Why, why, why? This BT keeps popping up in every single page. Maybe if it was a decent pop up, original or inspiring but no thought went in to this at all. It follows you everywhere and by the end of it you will seriously consider not coming back to this site. Do not close this or it will keep opening on every page, if you just leave it another one will not open. My advice, don't give BT the satisfaction of a click through to their website.

                    Disadvantages

This banner is very tiresome. The number of times I have seen this banner just makes me want to sleep. I don't care much for the Product it is advertising since I already have internet access at a low price than they are offering. As such I've never paid much attention to the banner. This has meant the only eye catching part has been the "BT" words and the animation. After giving the advert a little bit of added attention than usual today I realised the punch line of the animation. -Not very funny it has to be said. The advert claims a high price per month for unlimited internet access. For that price I'll going to have to go outside, else I won't be able to get to work to afford the BT charges. Somewhat hypocritical I'd say. Unfortunatly, the banner doesn't display it's conditions which include automatic disconnection after 2hrs of surfing. Any hypocritical statement since it can not be unlimited if your disconnected regularly. It doesn't do it's self any favours by this but also by the fact that you have to pay BT for a line rental since you need to use a BT line to access the service. One other unfavourable criticism I have about this banner is that it displays the highest costing service they have. Unlimited access is their most expensive services and the £14.99 just keeps me away from the site linked by the banner. if they had put one of their less costly services on their, such as Off-Peak Internet access, I might have just had a look. The only positive thing I can say about this banner is that the spinning man does seem to turn at the same rate as some songs on the radio. But this kind of entertainment doesn't last long, somewhat symbolic of the banner and it's product too.

I don't object to banner ads in principle, you have to make money otherwise we wouldn't . As I'm already with BT I don't take much notice of it. Somehow, the little man going round the revolving doors appears to know this and tries to follow me everywhere. I scroll down a page and copies of him come with me. Scroll back up, yes there he goes. Sideways presents no problems either. Trouble is I can't see anything now because there's loads of copies of him all over the place, all going round that damn door. If I jump a page and come back he's still there. Please make him go away, or at least behave himself and make sure BT pay up front, can't be sure they'll be able to pay anything for much longer!
