Advantages: you don't need to look further, once you've had a magnifying glass out you can find out all the info

Disadvantages: well you need the magnifying glass in the first place, and what good is a banner that you don't want to point and click at???

Well I'm assuming this belongs here in the iVillage banner section, but so far what I see is not so good. I mean do they think they HAVE to put that much on their banner??? As far as I'm concerned that is too much information in too little space, something simpler would have done the job much better.

Maybe even having a better animation or put the information in a rolling format that lets you see a part of it at a time, after all it would be easier to read and that's what people are doing, looking at the banner reading the info and making a decision on whether to click on it or not.

*UPDATE*

I've actually seen another banner for iLearnTo...and it is MUCH better. They have less information clogging the banner, making it easier to read, and with some animation have still managed to give enough information to let you know what it is they are trying to get you to take a look at. I also think this second banner is better as it peaks my interest more. Possibly because it doesn't bombard you with quite as much writing/info as the first banner I saw. Because of this banner I'm going to up my opinion of this type of banner. Not as much as I might have done though, the first banner is still lingering ::grins:: I saw it just a while ago.
