Advantages: not too much flickering

Disadvantages: not true to ivillage

I spend a lot of time at ivillage, and although they often have this banner on their site, it really desn't convey anything of what the place is actually like. I like I village, it has a sense of humour and plenty of useful stuff. There is the odd sex survey and tips, which are fun, but its somewhere you'd go just for sex talk. It's a good location for women online and a god online comunity. I don't know why they thought this banner would be a good thing to use.
On to the banner itself. I like the frequency at which this banner changes - it doesn't cause an irritating flicker in the corner of the eye and leaves the content on for long enough that you stand a chance of reading it. If I knew nothign about ivillage, i doubt I would associate this banner with any of the things ivillge is about, so on that score its a bit of a failure. However, sex sells on the internet, and this may attract a few people who might not otherwise have gone to look.
