Leeds City council have been helpful in some ways and not so helpful in others. I found the council tax situation a bit odd last year. I was living with 4 other students and my boyfriend was the only worker, he was only working 12 hours a week but still had to pay about £140 a month council tax with the student discount. They said it was because it was a large house, and in band B. They said he could apply for the council tax benefit but they would need all financial details of all my housemates and to meet them in person. A helpful service - Advantages: They don't tell lies, Lot's of information about different departments, Help is easy to find - Disadvantages: Too many departments - you don't know where you are!, They take their time getting things done
