As a resident of Liverpool I'm going to concentrate my review on their services with some observations of their website.

Politics aside - Liverpool City Council have improved dramatically over the last number of years. A lot of this was happening even before the City was granted the status of Capital Culture but this also helped too.

Liverpool has literally been rebuilt over the last few years, causing much inconvenience for its public, but it has been well worth it. The council have done a great job.

The services in Liverpool have also improved. At one time if you wanted to find a local council department you would need to search through pages of the phone book. Now it is just one number - called Liverpool Direct, which is open 24 hours a day. And it is a local rate number too!

The council were instrumental in the development of the Liverpool Arena, which now brings in many famous singers/artists etc. Only last week Gordon Brown came with is cabinet to hold a cabinet meeting there. I understand that this is the first time the cabinet have met outside of London.

The City is growing all the time. Keep up the great work Liverpool City Council!!

Summary: Modern Council, Efficient,
