Advantages: Call To Action!
Disadvantages: The ad doesn't tell you the small print!
Quite simply, the One.Tel banner ad on dooyoo does what the Argos one doesn't.... it calls you (excuse the pun) to act; with its Click to Register circle on the right side of the banner. If you make a lot of long-distance calls and think that your current phone bill is too high, without Internet dial-up charges being taken into account, this banner will probably make you want to find out more. Registering online is done through secure server, or you can be contacted by phone. That's right, they'll call you..... but you'll miss out on the Internet-only bonus. If you choose to register on-line, One.Tel are offering a £2 credit towards your first bill. In their words, "that's over 1 hour of national calls or calls to the USA, or 40 minutes to Australia." Nothing there about local calls! This opinion is not about the One.Tel service, but about their banner and in that respect I think they've got it right. The One.Tel logo is there for brand awareness, the banner promises you 'national and international calls at Flat Rates' and they tell you what to do..... Click to Register. Whether the dooyoo website reaches the target audience, only the One.Tel campaign managers will know. If One.Tel were giving Free Internet Access and no dial-up charges, however, I think their servers would crash with the demand. CAUTION: When clicking on banners that seem to give unbelievable promises, remember to read the small print before you sign up for a 'free £2 worth of calls', and of course read the other opinions on the dooyoo site about the company itself -- not the banner ad. Maybe there are hidden charges and technicalities that advertisers wouldn't want you to know. As an ad, it works...... for those interested in the cheaper calls they may be providing; depending on the contractual terms. === Disclaimer === I am in n
o way backing up their claims or encouraging you to enter the One.Tel agreement, as I have not used their service. This is only an opinion about the One.Tel banner on dooyoo.
