I believe this banner is one that many should take notice of,I am a mum of 3 lovely children but also I have lost one too.I feel that protecting them is of great importance as they are the future, and without our children what would happen to the world. I feel this campaign is very worthwhile, and our hearts should tell us we need to help in any small way we can. Life is very precious so we should be protecting these small innocent lives the best way possible. We need to stop the abuse, and torment of so many innocents. We are suppose to be a country with some morals and some standing in the world, but yet these horrible things still happen.Help anyway possible is the message and I hope the banner does work and makes people see what goes on under our very noses.
This banner would seem to appeal to adults and children alike. You have time to read the Planit4kids.com logo and its brief description before a racing car comes zooming up the road towards you, which suggests an entertaining and fast moving site is waiting for you. Maybe the car is moving a little fast and you really need to watch the banner a few times before you appreciate it fully. The wording used is clear, bright and easy to read.
I'm afraid that this particular banner did nothing for me. It didn't make me want to investigate the 'product' further so, in my case, the banner failed to achieve it's objective. The banner is first a pale blue and then has a circle that runs from left to right (perhaps it is supposed to be a bowling ball or something - I've no idea). The circle, as it rolls, uncovers a section of the hidden banner. As soon as the circle reaches the right hand side the whole banner becomes uncovered. There is a ghastly picture of a cartoon type child with the logo Planit4kids.com. But before you can read what else it says the pale blue covers all of the banner and the annoying circle starts up again. And so it continues over and over. I don't like: (a) The revolving circle - you can't make out what it is uncovering so it's a waste of time. (b) The horrible cartoon child, very poor outdated design. (c) The full banner and message being shown for too short a period. If good money was paid for this design, it's money wasted. Just my opinion, of course!
What is wrong with advertisers that they can get banners just so so wrong! The planit4kids banners are pretty much the prime example of exactly what NOT to do. Now, I'm no advertising guru but I do know exactly what gets my own and other people's backs up about banner ads...and I belive that planit4kids's banners cover most of them... Firstly they are garishly coloured. OK, not the most annoying thing in the world, but lets be honest, who is going to be attracted to disgusting colours when there are more pleasant colour schemes out there? What impression does this give of the site? Yes, it may catch the eye...no, it does not encourage us to click upon it. Couple this with the fact that some of them commit the ultimate sin of FLASHING(grrr) at you incessantly when you are trying to concentrate on the page - the actual reason you surfed by in the first place. Then, take one big mixing pot and throw in some 'misleading information' tricks. You know the thing I mean, the banners which look like error messages with the big red 'X' and a warning message compelling you to click, or the obscured message whcih requests that you scroll down to read more...both of which actions direct you to the website. Is urbia.co.uk so bad that they must trick us into visiting their site? Well, I really have no intention of finding out having seen their banner displays. Sort it out people, employ someone with an ounce of advertising knowledge and do us and yourselves a favour. p.s. ugly kids dont deserve help (its crap)
To me all pop groups suck, boyzone backstreet boys and a1, all they are, r boy bands who cant sing and supposidly look good, but their voices are computarized and they cant dance. They never make their own lyrics and they cant play any instruments, so whats so good about them, the real stuff is rock they make their own lyrics and they can sing and play their own instruments their voices dont have to be computarized to sound good either.
